What are the main differences between three and four wheel scooters?

The main difference between the two types of scooters, other than the number of wheels, is stability and maneuverability. A three wheel scooter, as mentioned above, is far more maneuverable than the 4 wheel scooter.

Those with four wheels, on the other hand are more stable and more rugged, able to handle uneven terrain much better than the 3 wheel variety. Typically the heavy duty and luxury models of scooters are 4 wheel styles because they have a larger wheel base and can support the weight of the heavier machine.

However many modern 3 wheel scooters have been made to be more stable but not lose any of the maneuverability. However, if you are going to be on uneven road surfaces, go for the scooter with the most stability and a wide tire base.
